MAENAM AND FRIENDS: A DINNER SERIES RETURNS
Vancouver, BC, January 29, 2026 - Maenam, Vancouver’s award-winning Thai restaurant, is bringing back its popular chef collaboration dinner series this year. Maenam and Friends: A Dinner Series pairs chef-owner Angus An and his team with acclaimed chefs from Canada and around the world, starting on March 5, 2026 with Chef Bo Li’s acclaimed The Fish Man.
Tickets are $188.88++ per person and will feature snacks and several family-style courses. Together, the duo will prepare a special Lunar New Year–inspired evening featuring a menu influenced by the bold, festive flavours of Yaowarat’s (Bangkok’s Chinatown) vibrant streets. Guests can book online now.
“The first Maenam and Friends was very well received, and we wanted to bring the series back with a new line-up this year,” says An, founder and executive chef of Full House Hospitality, which counts Maenam, Longtail Kitchen, Sen Pad Thai, Fat Mao Noodles, Sainam, and Mekong in its restaurant portfolio. “Bo and I have spoken about collaborating for some time as we both share a deep respect for local seafood. I grew up immersed in Chinese food culture and have long been fascinated by the Thai-Chinese community and its cuisine. I look forward to finally welcoming Bo into our kitchen and having some fun with the menu.”
Since opening in 2019, The Fish Man has been awarded several accolades, including No. 9 on Chinese Restaurant Awards’ Elite 30 Canada 2025, No. 89 on Canada’s 100 Best, 2022 Vancouver Magazine Restaurant Awards’ Best Casual Chinese Restaurant, and in 2023, it was named one of Maclean’s Best Places to Eat in Canada. The Richmond restaurant is renowned for showcasing a creative blend of Cantonese and Sichuan cuisine, highlighting the natural flavours of fresh, local seafood, alongside familiar spices.
“I’m excited to celebrate Lunar New Year with Angus and his team at Maenam,” adds Li. “This collaboration is a chance for us to honour the season and showcase the flavours of Bangkok’s Chinatown with a special menu featuring Thai, Hakka, Hokkien, and Hainan-inspired dishes.”
Wine or non-alcoholic beverage pairings are also available. Bar manager Tony Limchai will also be making some of his signature cocktails.
